Expert has over 25 years of experience with antennas. His main duty is providing expertise in engineering/physics/design/development of prototypes and innovation in primarily, but not limited to, the area of development of antennas/RF engineering.
He has experience with large and small simple and complex antennas. He has 5 patents related to development of cellular multi-band antennas and the new concepts resulted in practical designs available as products in real world. His work on switched antenna arrays resulted in successful practical products as well, this time used by an emergency response team.
Development of Multi-band antennas for Sierra Wireless Ltd. In this role he accomplished complete development cycle: studied requirements developed design concepts, built, tuned and tested prototypes, advised mechanical engineering team for details of implementation, performed tests and quality control in early production stages. The development resulted in family of antennas for WLAN wireless modems (CDMA. EDGE, GSM). The antennas were mass-produced and contributed significantly to Sierra Wireless winning products. The company recognized innovative aspects of the design and filed 5 patents based on this workDevelopment of Switched antenna system. responded to requirement for significant increase of antenna gain while keeping omnidirectional performance. Came up with practical design of switched system made of 4 directional (patch array) antennas embedded into the package of the product. Performed numerical modeling, development, construction of prototypes, tuning, tests, organized production of antenna PCBs, controlled quality and integrated the antennas within the package of the product. The work resulted in significant increase of product rangeResponded to request to develop antenna for transmitter embedded into the sole of the shoe. Proposed antenna concept, performed numerical study of effects of proximity of lossy materials, effects of gait on antenna tuning. Developed prototype, tested, tuned, transferred engineering documentation to the client.
