Originally from South Carolina, I currently live in the San Francisco Bay Area, working at Stanford University Medical Center as a critical care/emergency resource RN. In this role, I oversee the critical care delivered within the level one emergency department. I started my career as an Army combat medic, serving around the globe and participating in combat operations in multiple countries. I ended my military career as an instructor at FT. Benning Georgia. Since leaving the Army, I have held various staff, education, and leadership positions in the ground and air emergency medical services (EMS), hospital emergency/critical care, and critical care transport arenas.

I have been published/lectured globally on a variety of topics related to homeland security, terrorism, critical/emergency care, and air medical flight operations.

I am a board certified Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. In addition, I hold multiple board certifications in emergency, trauma, transport, and critical care.

As a Six Sigma green belt, I have lead and designed process improvement projects in both the medical transport and hospital environments.

My diverse background gives me the ability to adapt to situations and work collaboratively to find a solution.

I am Past President of the Air and Surface Transport Nurses Association "ASTNA". I remain involved in emergency, critical care, and transport industries, as a mentor, educator, consultant, and expert.
