Expert Details
Polymer Coatings, Adhesives Development, Polymer Characterization, Expert Witness
ID: 108281
Utah, USA
Most of Expert's career has been devoted to developing structure/property relationships for polymeric materials. He has learned to use a wide variety of analytical techniques, including thermal analysis, dynamic mechanical and dielectric spectrometry, FTIR, NMR, GPC, light-scattering, and UV/visible spectroscopy to analyze polymeric materials. He has also learned to integrate the results of those methods into a clearer picture of the structure of the materials and how they can best be tailored for a given application. This allows him to serve as an effective interface between a product development group and an analytical chemist.
Expert has developed UV-curable abrasion resistant coatings for ophthalmic lenses, plastic glazing materials, filament-wound pressure vessels and skis. The coatings are currently in commercial use by a number of industrial firms.
Expert was a founding member of a technical team where he assisted in setting up the laboratory, developed the materials technology and participated in business and technical discussions with licensees and potential customers and licensees. He assisted in materials development for a start-up devoted to development of electrochromic eyewear. He was a founder of a start-up dedicated to development and commercialization of toxic hazard detection sensors. He served as a consultant where he assisted in the development of continuous blood glucose sensors and related equipment. He is currently President and Chief Technical Officer for a start-up company that is commercializing UV-curable materials in a range of industrial applications.
