Nonwovens and Spun Yarn Technology and Fabric Properties
ID: 721881
United Kingdom
Since 1990, Expert has been involved with research in the performance of fabrics and has acted as a consultant to many international companies including Marks & Spencer, Procter and Gamble, and Unilever. He has helped companies establish benchmarks for fabric quality control. Expert has conducted research in rotor spinning since 1992 and has established the yarn structure-property-process relationships of rotor yarns. He is also engaged in research of novel yarn production techniques.
Expert was the principle grant holder of the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) project on the production of 3D nonwovens. 3D nonwovens shapes can now be produced in a single process without the need of cutting and reassembling. This eliminates wastage and significantly reduces production costs. The project attracted joint funding from EPSRC and industry of over £320,000.
