Expert has published extensively in the area of reliability improvement through redundancy and other means for various types of systems including computers, mechanical, and electrical systems. A number of chapters in his books are concerned with the reliability improvement of engineering systems. He has also supervised many doctoral and master theses in the area. One of his books is specifically devoted to computer systems covering areas such as reliability improvement, prediction, cost analysis, fault tolerant, failure analysis, and Markov modeling.
Expert has conducted various studies concerning life cycle costing in the industrial sector and the academic world. In the industrial sector, his cost related analytical studies were mainly concerned with power systems and equipment. In the academic world, he has published many articles and chapters on life cycle costing. In 1989, he wrote a book on life cycle costing and another one in 2009.
Expert has conducted many studies concerning reliability and failure analysis of mechanical equipment, particularly aerospace and power generation systems. Over the years, he has also written many articles on mechanical reliability. About 20 years ago, he wrote a book on mechanical reliability, which was published by the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
Over the years Expert has performed many studies concerning failure data analysis and collection for the industrial sector. He has also written many articles and book chapters on failure data concerning electronic, mechanical, electrical, robotic,health care systems, and humans.
Since 1974, Expert has executed many projects concerning failure modes and effect analysis and fault tree analysis, Markov modeling, Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF), and failure rate calculations. He has written a vast number of articles on these areas and a total of 35 books, many of which have been translated into various languages.
Expert has been involved with various aspects of safety including analysis, data collection, safety systems, human error in engineering systems, and robotic and medical device safety. He has also written many articles, chapters, and books on the subject since 1983.
Expert has regularly participated in the design reviews of artificial hearts with respect to reliability and safety.He participated in the reliability design reviews of telecommunication, health care, and other systems in US and Canada.Expert participated in many NATO workshops regarding the Space Shuttle Challenger debacle. These workshops dealt with power systems, robot systems, and mechanical materials.He has reviewed the promotion cases for many people within various organizations around the world. Expert has reviewed design and research proposals for many organizations in US and other countries.
