Gas chromatography is one of numerous routinely applied methods of analyzing environmental samples. Expert has more than 15 years of experience in the review of chemical analytical data from a wide variety of laboratories, instruments, and methods. He has provided expert witness and other forms of litigation support in this area. He is a nationally recognized resource providing insight into the quality and meaning of various forms of environmental data.
Expert provides assessment of data quality not only in terms of the compliance of analysis with standard methods, but also in relation to the precision and accuracy of the data and its fitness to be used for various applications. This requires detailed knowledge of program objectives, sampling strategies, and statistical data analysis. Expert has more than 15 years of experience in these matters and is considered a national resource and expert in this regard.
Expert has repeatedly been called upon to examine chemical degradation pathways as well as chemical exposure pathways in the analysis of environmental risk. In instances where the responsibility for environmental contamination must be assigned, in instances where engineering design decisions are based on natural and/or enhanced degradation of contaminants, and in defining both human health and ecological exposure pathways, Expert has provided expert assistance to offices and companies world-wide.
Expert is a leader in developing innovative technologies for reducing the cost of environmental investigations and environmental monitoring activities. Expert advocates a "Value Engineering" approach to review the manner in which resources are allocated to these efforts and can identify various management, engineering, and statistical tools that can dramatically reduce the long-term costs. Immunoassay and other forms of test kits are one such approach. However, there are also other means such as the use of chemical sensors, field portable instrumentation, and geo-statistical techniques that can offer significant cost reductions.
Long term environmental monitoring will be one of the biggest cost items for government and non-government entities for years to come. The application of innovative technologies and statistical techniques to this process can result in enormous cost reductions. In one study for the US Air Force, Expert demonstrated a projected savings of 75%.
Expert has expert knowledge of the physical and chemical properties of virtually all hazardous waste constituents regulated by the US government. This knowledge is useful in planning for data gathering activities, in the design of treatment systems, and in presenting site data to management, regulators, and the public in an understandable, non-threatening manner.
He maintained quality control for an incinerator compliance test and trial burn at Petro-processors superfund site.He did a feld analytical chemistry support, UMDA, Hermiston, OR. Expert performed an ecological risk assessment, Wortsmith AFB.Design/Construction QA/QC - Bldg. 103/503 Landfill, APG, MD
