Did extensive work on high octane options for avgas market. This work directed at options to replace tetraethyl lead as octane booster in existing formulations. Patent application in US PTO describing one such activity.
Worked with the father of 'carbocation chemistry', Nobel Laureate, Prof. George Olah and have numerous publications in the area. Have worked on superacid catalyzed alkane isomerization and on the use of BF3 and related systems for carbonylation chemistry.
During his activities with ExxonMobil Chemical Company, Expert worked on numerous chemical intermediates. One example is work he carried out on novel manufacturing routes to dimethyl carbonate, an intermediate in the manufacture of polycarbonate resins. Patent applications and issued patents exist in this area where he is co-inventor.
Have carried out in-depth intellectual property studies for clients. Headed up IP teams. Have written a number of IP strategy documents.
Worked to understand use of various oxygenates to boost octane, and to meet other fuel specs.
Kinetics and mechanisms of organic chemical transformations are part and parcel of my technical skill set. Fundamentals of this type are always at the heart of improved process chemistries.
Array
Helped start up company develop first R&D program for in-house usageCompleted an in-depth analysis of large IP portfolio for client with recommendations for subsequent actions.Consulted on R&D program related to optimized approach to conversion of heavy hydrocarbons. He took lead in identifying R&D direction for biofuels/bio to chemical companies. Expert witness in fuel additive case.
