During the past 24+ years as a professor at a major land grant institution, he has conducted a multitude of research studies evaluating nutritional, health and management that relates to beef cattle and forages production.

In his position at a major USA Land Grant Institution, he has developed a laboratory that evaluates performance of numerous ISO 11785 technologies. In 2007, his laboratory was recognized as a Center of Excellence by Employer. He has conducted extensive research on RFID (numerous frequencies) of animal identification, specifically for bovine applications. The results of this work have been presented throughout the USA and world. He has developed a bulletin on animal identification that has over 50,000 copies in circulation.

He has been extensively involved in agricultural production issues for the past 24 years specifically in areas related to forage production for beef cattle production (specifically in the cow/calf and stocker sectors).

He has been extensively involved in agricultural sciences, specifically animal agriculture (bovine/beef production) for the past 24 + years as a professor at a major US land grant institution. His areas of specialization include ruminant nutrition (byproducts), forage (native grass, cereal forages, and alfalfa), light weight calf receiving management strategies and technology and information management.

For 24+ years he has conducted research involving ruminant (beef cattle) in a variety of production and research settings. He has conducted research with feed additives/bioceuticals, pharmaceuticals, antibiotics. The majority of this work has been conducted in cooperation with major animal health companies (including Merial, Fort Dodge, Intervet, Purina, Cargill and many others).

He developed course curriculum and conduct training sessions and provide professional presentations to numerous feed, pharmaceutical companies and trade organizations in the United States, Canada and Mexico.He conducted market analysis research and provide ongoing technical support to several commercial entities directly involved in the animal technology and identification industry.He traveled to South America to provide onsite consultation related to beef nutrition and management.
