Expert in board certified in internal medicine with a subspecialty in infectious diseases and immunology. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at the University of Michigan Medical Center in 1985. He currently works as an Associate Professor of Microbiology and a Professor of Medicine at his university. He has published extensively in his area of expertise including over 43 peer review articles and 9 book chapters.

Expert has been involved in vaccine development and measurement of humoral and cellular responses in regards to protective immunity for the last three decades. A main thrust of his work is in regards to the pathogenic Neisseria. He also has been developing new and unique vaccine adjuvants based on Toll-like receptor ligands. He has collaborated with various companies in these endeavors. He is a board certified specialist in Infectious Diseases and has significant experience in basic infectious diseases with special interest in bacterial infections, sexually transmitted diseases and clinical vaccine use and evaluation. Because of his expertise, he has been invited to speak and give presentations all over the nation and world including for the 10th Inernational Lancefield Society Meeting held in Germany and many more.

He has done extensive research on various topics in immunology and infectious disease. His publications include original papers on characterization and specificity of antibodies, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, protein I, construction and characterization and immunobiology of proteins and peptides V, an immune responses to gonorrhea, humoral immune response to meningococcal disease, Neisserial Porins, and much more.
