Expert has been active in product development for the stationery and cosmetic industry for 30+ years. Pens that he has contributed in a major way, have been sold worldwide and in very large quantity for customers as varied as Hewlett Packard, Noxell, and Revlon. He is expert in most phases of Conventional marker pens, Free ink pens, Roller ball pens, Valve action pens, Fiber tipped cosmetic pens, Calligraphy pens, Graphic art pens, and Fountain pens. His expertise extends to the capillarity of the reservoirs, fluid flow passages and pressure equalization chambers as well as to the tip and surface interactions that define performance. He knows most and has been to many of the major suppliers of pen components in Europe and the Far East. He is expert in proposing design solutions to pen performance problems including shelf life and service life issues . He has served as expert in patent litigation and is personally named on more than 10 US and world patents.
He has audited manufactures in China and Europe, regularly attends Paperworld in Frankfurt, and has attended Paperworlds in Shanghai. He has consulted the pen industry for the last 7 years since leaving his positions of Director of Technology and Marker Development at Sanford in 2002.

He has helped many companies solve pen product problems by suggesting design changes, as well as tools to measure pen performance characteristics.He has solved R&D issues pen leaking that had plagued product development, and allowed the products to meet market introduction deadlinesHe has recommended suppliers for critical pen components that improved made possible acceptable pen function.
