Expert is a psychologist, teacher, trainer, clinical supervisor, and speaker with over 35 years of human services experience. He is skilled at written and verbal communication with a gift for motivating and empowering. He has 18 years of experience teaching and supervising graduate level counseling students. Expert has 10 years of private practice as a psychologist working with individuals with a variety of needs, and has consulted with a number of non-profit organizations regarding clinical practice and program development. He has developed training curriculum/videos, risk management strategies, and clinical supervision protocols for organizations providing behavioral health and human services including the State of Arizona.

His teaching experience has focused on psychotherapy skills, psychopathology, diagnosis, treatment planning, as well as practicum and internship supervision. In these last courses, the focus of training is on psychotherapy skills as well as complex cognitive skills such as case conceptualization, integration of theoretical approaches, and effective treatment planning.

His training experience has included master's level clinicians in the public and private sector, and development of training videos for a large crisis response center. As Clinical Operations director for the AZ State Dept of Behavioral Health, he developed clinical supervision and training protocols and trained state-wide contractors in these areas.

Expert provided, on a part-time basis, Staff Enrichment through video series, new hire training
and mentor training manuals. Train Clinical Supervisors in models/methods of effective
clinical supervision and train floor supervisors in crisis center management. Provide input
to policy development and incorporation of current evidence based practices into agency
standards and appropriate clinical crises skills development of crisis staff.
HomeBase Youth Services – shelter for homeless young adults.
Expert was contracted to develop and oversee a comprehensive mental health/substance abuse program. He was also responsible for supervision and ongoing training of clinical and line staff. He supervised master and doctoral level counseling interns, staff training,
Catholic Charities – Religious and Clergy Assistance Program.
Expert was contracted to provide individual counseling, in-services, seminars, workshops
on health and well-being for religious men and women of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Phoenix.
Thomas J. Pappas School for Homeless – K through 11.
Expert was contracted to develop a clinical supervision protocol and supervise master level clinicians and interns working with homeless students.
St. Matthew's Catholic School.
Expert was contracted to offer ongoing training to faculty on the particular issues involving inner city, hispanic students including: Culture of Poverty, Substance Abuse, Gang Issues, Domestic Violence, Child Abuse. In addition Expert was contracted to provide guidance in classroom management and effective response to classroom disruptions.
