Expert witness for law firm representing a major Orlando area resort. Project involved incomplete and non-contractually compliant work on telecommunications systems Expert was also hired to do investigative research on excessive damage charges by a major telephone company. Both cases were won 1.Provided expert technical advice in a dispute involving damage to a telephone companies cabling infrastructure by a underground contractor. I represented the contractor and their attorney 2. Provided an onsite technical evaluation of telecommunications outside plant work performed by an underground contractor. Site survey also included what work was paid for but not completed by the contractor and what it would cost the client to have that work done. Provided a deposition for the other side 3. Hired as an expert witness by a law firm representing a contractor who was not paid for work completed. My advice was needed to assess if the money was earned and therefore should be paid. It also involved challenging the general contractor's design inefficiencies. Provided a deposition and expert witness report. Case was settled prior to arbitration but after a mediation session Outcome of each: 1. Telephone company greatly reduced their damage claim 2. Underground contractor declared bankruptcy 3. Settlement was agreed to by both sides |
