Developed a proposed partnership structure for a 250 facility retail gasoline station and convenience store network for a large US domestic operator and an international C-Store franchiser. Provided consulting service, affidavits, and expert witness testimony in multiple gasoline site liability cases regarding customer injuries on-site from slips and falls and severe burns. Three cases are ongoing. Deposed as an expert witness in a lawsuit filed in Washington State by Retail Gas Station and C-Store owner/operator against that operator's major oil company supplier. Expert represented the oil company's interests and testified in gasoline pricing, real estate sale practices, and franchise operations. The case was dismissed with a summary and judgment given to the client. Provided consulting services to an oil company supplier in preparation for a suit filed by a multi-site dealer over supplier services such as back-office and point of sale computer systems, C-Store franchise contractual issues, and gasoline supply and pricing. In addition to the consulting services, Expert provided expert testimony in Illinois state court. The client prevailed. Consulted as an expert witness for an insurance company that was a defendant in a $2M lawsuit filed by an independent Gas-Station C/Store operator. Identified insurance fraud and false testimony under oath from the plaintiff in the case. The client has now successfully petitioned for two counter-suits. Cases ongoing.
