Expert has a twenty nine year, progressively responsible career in the implementation of complex security sales and management scenarios as well as an inventor of new checkpoint security screening concepts. He is experienced in all phases of the security business in terms of hardware, personnel and complex, high threat, international and domestic security requirements. Recognized throughout the security community in the United States and in many foreign countries as an expert in Civil Aviation and Cargo Security he has been quoted in such publications as The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, Chicago Tribune, Los Angeles Times and The Denver Post. Since the “underwear” bombing attempt of the Northwest Airlines flight in late 2009 he has blogged extensively on aviation checkpoint and air cargo security on the National Security Site, “No Quarter”. He was othe first regular members of the Association of Independent Aviation Security Professionals and is the holder of three US Patents and one Chinese Patent. Along with two colleagues he is the co-author, as a consultant, of the document that resulted in the IATA (International Air Transport Association) “Checkpoint of the Future” project.

As a principal part of the sales team at EG&G Astrophysics (now L-3 Security and Detection Systems) in the 1990's Expert. Expert was involved in the early implementation of what became, in Europe, Level 1 EDS with a system known as Z-San. As a consultant since 1999 he has been involved with client issues related to the introduction of new EDS concepts such as non-rotating gantry CT/EDS. Additionally, he was principally involved in a "bag centering" issue for a client in the HBS space that solved a major issue with bag jams and resulted in substantial sales of this solution in the US and overseas. As a distributor of screening equipment in Russia in 2005-2009 Expert was an agent for Reveal Imaging (now a subsidiary of SAIC) and was principally involved in the Russian Government certification, testing, installation, demonstration and sales of their CT-80 solution in that country.

Expert. Expert's involvement in aviation security and government checkpoint operations, design, sales and explosives detection innovation goes back to the early 1980's.

After 9/11, under the sponsorship of his client, he conceived of and devised the implementation and testing strategy for significant advances in baggage screening technology. This concept later evolved into what has become known as the "Checkpoint of the Future" and resulted in a number of US patents.

In 2007-2008 Expert organized (and sold) one of the largest single deployments to date (20 Systems) of SafeView (now L-3 Pro-Vision) Active Millimeter Wave Portals at Domodedovo Airport Moscow to detect body borne Improvised Explosive Devices and oversaw the training of over 300 Security Officers. In 2005 Expert initiated programs in the Russian Federation of advanced security checkpoints. These successful demonstration and certification programs involved various organs of Russian State Security, Aviation/Transport Security Regulation and Health and Safety Organizations and were quite complex in nature and scope. In 2004 Expert devised a program (in conjunction with a client) to increase the processing speed of certain TSA Certified Explosives Detection Systems (EDS) by means of a high capacity centering conveyor. Later developments included over $6M in deliverables to TSA and an increased bag per hour throughput for the systems involved.
