We work at main board level with major companies around the world, and with leading investors, on the impact on demand patterns of the dramatic demographic changes now underway in Western and emerging markets. Produced 3 major multi-client Reports (2002, 2005, 2008) for blue chip industry clients including Shell, ExxonMobil, TOTAL, INEOS, Dow, SABIC, BP, Bayer, BASF advising on key issues with significant financial upside/downside.Acted as VP, Europe, for ChemConnect (1999-2001), an online chemical marketplace. Raised $27 million from major European chemical companies, and introduced the business at senior levels to other companies who became major users; also helped with the preparation of the IPO, working with underwriters Goldman Sachs.Negotiated a £400 million restructuring after a problematic ICI (Imperial Chemical Industries) divestment had developed potential liabilities of £1.3 billion – ICI’s share price jumped 22% in the day following announcement of the successful restructuring, and more than doubled over next few months.Acted as commercial advisers for a joint venture project in Saudi Arabia for BP (later INEOS) with HSBC. Our role covered all aspects of the project, including feedstock selection, plant configuration and operations, through to product marketing and sales. We wrote the petrochemical part of the detailed feasibility study for review by the financial advisers, and also presented on behalf of the project sponsors to local lenders and investors.
