Expert is a legal academic and practicing attorney with nearly five decades of experience in corporate law, securities regulation, antitrust law, and law and economics. Expert currently serves as a Professor-in-Residence and Distinguished Teaching Fellow at a law school, teaching corporations and business entity law, securities regulation, antitrust, law and economics, and criminal law, while also serving as an arbitrator for a major financial industry regulatory authority and a national arbitration association, and as a consulting attorney and expert witness in corporate, securities, antitrust, and regulatory matters.

Expert spent over three decades as a tenured law professor at a public university, and has held visiting professorships at numerous law schools and research institutions throughout the United States and Europe. Earlier in Expert's career, Expert served as an attorney in the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice and as an Assistant Attorney General for a U.S. state.

Expert is the author of a widely used business organizations law textbook, now in its sixth edition, along with a book on antitrust law and local government and numerous law review articles on antitrust, securities, and regulatory topics. Expert's academic contributions have been recognized with a Fulbright Award and other international research honors. Expert holds a J.D. with High Honors from the University of Texas School of Law and a B.A. from Yale University, and is admitted to practice before the State Bar of Texas and multiple U.S. Courts of Appeals.
