Request Expert

Expert is a chemistry professor and research scientist with over two decades of experience leading interdisciplinary academic research, combined with substantial entrepreneurial experience commercializing laboratory-developed technology. Expert currently serves as Professor of Chemistry at a major state university, where Expert manages a research group of postdoctoral scientists and students, secures research funding, and directs research across organic chemistry, polymer chemistry, nanomaterials, membranes, and drug delivery systems, with extensive interdisciplinary collaboration spanning pharmacy, physics, engineering, and agriculture.

Expert also serves as Associate Editor for a peer-reviewed nanomaterials journal, managing several hundred manuscripts annually, and serves as Faculty Lead for the university's NSF I-Corps entrepreneurship program, advising numerous university-affiliated entrepreneurs. Expert has translated academic research into commercial ventures on two occasions, founding an agricultural technology company where Expert currently serves as Co-Founder and CTO, and previously founding and leading a membrane technology start-up, in both cases leading fundraising efforts and business development activities.

Expert holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Harvard University, completed postdoctoral research at Stanford University, and holds a B.S. in Chemistry from the California Institute of Technology. Expert has authored 78 peer-reviewed scientific publications and written approximately 100 grant proposals to federal agencies and private organizations throughout Expert's career. Expert was elected to the National Academy of Inventors in 2024 and has received numerous research and academic honors throughout Expert's career, including early recognitions such as a Barry Goldwater Scholarship and a Department of Defense Predoctoral Fellowship.
