Responsibilities: Administered the training program that lead to the formal ACAS certification of all Employer Paint Personnel. Develop, revise, and implement planning that is specific to the titanium/carbon fiber jet engine fan blades that we build and subsequently paint in both Manual and Automated operations. Completed a Six Sigma Greenbelt project that reduced the occurrence of the porosity defect consistently by 98% across all model lines. Increased the first time yield for all coatings work from an average of 24% to 68% during the first six months of service. This was accomplished by improving the process with contemporary tools and materials that are more effective and by training our technicians to have a much better understanding of the process. Current FTY is consistently averaging 90% from an average of 52% in 2013. Qualified a new PPG basecoat/clearcoat paint system to better meet the organizational objectives of Employer's Paint Operations. Worked extensively with GE Aviation to accomplish this. Implemented Infrared Curing that reduced the cure cycle from 3 hours to 1.5 hours with a significant energy savings attached. 2012-2013 StandardAero Springfield, IL Sr. Manager; Paint Operations Oversee the daily requirements of a large MRO aircraft paint operation. Authored three proprietary engineering paint specifications for StandardAero. Assisted in achieving 100% ACAS certification for StandardAero's Coatings Technicians. Reduced the average paint cycle time by a consistent (14) days over past performance. Increase facility capacity by 50% through better management of the process. 2010-2012 Honda Aircraft Company Greensboro, NC Manufacturing Engineer (Paint Operations) Built the infrastructure of Honda's Aerospace Paint Operations from the ground up. Wrote the original work instructions using SAP, and the approved engineering specifications, to prepare and paint the first few Honda aircraft. Developed a unique system for painting production aircraft that is currently patent pending. Worked with Embry Riddle University and the SSPC (Society for Protective Coatings) to professionally license and certify the first aircraft painters on the planet. | He serves as expert witness for attorneys and insurance companies (both plaintiff & defense) in chemistry and chemical engineering technology and their application to consumer and industrial products relative to product development, safety and intellectual property issues. His expertise includes, but is not limited to: fires, explosions, hazardous chemicals, chemical burns and toxic exposures. Expert also consults for the cosmetic, personal care, pharmaceutical and specialty chemical areas. These include, for example, the application of fundamental polymer and surface chemistry principles to a wide variety of market development & technological issues associated with the Specialty Chemicals & Allied Industries. He conducts corporate training in mind map technology, runs idealization/brainstorming sessions, does technical marketing, customized technology and market research, technology transfer and professional technical writing/editing. He served for six years as Chief Scientific Adviser & Director for the largest health and beauty conference & expo in the United States.
