Output voltages have ranged from 2V to 160,000 volts. Power has ranged from sub-1W to 100KVA. Expert has evaluated the thermal design of power systems and written papers describing good thermal design practices. He has been involved in one case that involved poor system thermal design.
Expert has designed and characterized many types of connectors, including designing a 200A / 200pH connector with the lowest inductance in the world at that time. He represented the connector industry by writing the electrical connector section for StatPEP (Status of Electronic Packaging) report commissioned by Power Sources Manufacturer’s Association. He served as a technical consultant for the President of Elcon (now Tyco Electronics).
Expert has analyzed computer flat-panel displays, measuring display response time, acquiring EDID data, identifying the internal LVDS signal, the monitor's ability to properly size test images using advanced video interpolator circuits and monitor physical construction. He designed a video data acquisition board and optical sensor.
Expert has consulted independently since 1993.
