Ms. D. Expert has extensive expertise with the maintenance, re-engineering, and reuse of computer software. She has maintained large telecommunications systems and established processes that resulted in effective provision of service to company engineers. She was the Chair of a group that developed a recently approved IEEE standard for software maintenance. In addition, she speaks often on software maintenance, re-engineering, and reuse at conferences and consults with clients on these subjects.

Having utilized aspects of software quality assurance in her role as a systems developer of large telecommunications systems, Expert is an expert on all aspects of software life cycle. She designed and developed a quality auditing program with associated scheduling, project monitoring, and tracking. As an author and conference speaker on these topics, Expert consults with clients on defining and implementing software life cycle and quality assurance.

Expert possesses significant expertise in software inspection, testing, and validation as well as configuration management. She has successfully applied these disciplines during her career with the Bell Systems, first as a software engineer and then as a manager. In recognition of her proficiency in these areas, she was selected as an International Convener (Chair) of a group that is currently developing an international standard.

As a certified Lead Assessor of ISO 9000 quality system, Expert has extensive experience in ISO 9000 documentation and implementation for software. She has written extensively on the impact of ISO 9000 standards on US trade in Europe and other parts of the world. She has made numerous presentations on ISO standards to such groups as the National Association of Export Companies and the New York Software Industry Association, and at the Telecommunications Compliance Conferences.

Using her extensive knowledge of ISO 9000 series of standards, Expert consults with clients to help implement changes that will assure ISO certification. She acts as a liaison with a registrar that eventually registers a firm under ISO 9001, 9002, or 9003 standards.

Expert is an expert on ISO 9000-3, the guideline that applies to software development. She is an International Convener of an ISO software engineering group that uses these standards as bases for developing software sector specific standards.

A significant portion of Expert's work has entailed analyzing the process dynamics of software development. While at Bell Systems, she consulted with an organization that performed vendor certification on software products. She now works with a variety of clients in the area of software certification.

During her tenure at Bell Systems, Expert was called on to make selection of software products that were placed on a client-server network as well as software for various applications. She also was instrumental in devising criteria for software selection.
