Request Expert

Expert has over 30 years of experience in plant tissue culture. He has developed a number of tissue culture systems based on direct or indirect somatic embryogenesis and organogenesis. These systems were designed to be easy to use, to be scalable (using liquid multiplication stages) and to be highly reproducible. Thus, the systems have been used by institutions and private companies for producing high quality agricultural plants such as alfalfa, corn, sunflower, sugar bet; forage graces – switchgrass, orchardgrass; conifer trees such as different pine and spruce species.

With over 20 years of successful R&D management experience Expert can provide advices, formulate strategies for setting up a state of the art research. His expertise in developing and optimizing manufacturing process to improve quality and reduce cost can benefit every client that is interested in developing and scale up base-line processes to commercial levels.

Developing systems for fast clonal propagation of legumes, grasses and conifer trees are unique tools for new product development that Expert can offer to clients interested in plant biotechnology and its commercial aspect. These include protocols for high quality embryogenic tissue including induction, solid maintenance, liquid multiplication, maturation and germination; screening and protocol development of new elite germplasm; protocol optimization and development of commercial cryo banks.

Working for a very competitive industry, Expert has gained a lot of experience of how to develop a new product rapidly. Using his broad experience in plant biotechnology and tissue culture and his ability to read the market demand, Expert has a proven record of developing high quality research technologies, protocol improvements, process step optimization in short time windows. He can provide extensive advice in performing quick pilot tests complemented by his broad experience in quality control.

Expert has held consulting positions concerning the establishment of new laboratory units, selecting and training personnel at the University of Agriculture, the Institute of Forage Legumes, the Institute of Cotton, Institute of Horticulture, and the Institute of Seed Production, Bulgaria. He has held consulting positions developing new methods for fast clonal propagation in Kazakh Academy of Sciences Institute of Botany. Expert has been an Invited Scientist at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, to develop a system for embryogenesis in Switchgrass.
