Has extensive experience in handling whole genome sequence for annotation, detection of sequence variation and development of relational databases.
Has done functional genomic analysis of the Xylella fastidiosa and Vitis spps. interaction using microarray and bioinformatics tools. This includes, generation of transcription profiles for the plant-pathogen interaction and identification and quantification of the micro and macro genomic variability among the different Xylella isolates and correlate it with the pathogen virulence.
for the biothreat agents Bacillus anthracis and Francisella tularensis, using MUMMER and such other bioinformatics software’s, a whole genome search for SNPs, INDELs and similar other variable regions was conducted for the above two biothreat agents. Multiplex PCR based assay has been standardized for B. anthracis and screening of these primers across other Bacillus spp has been completed. Similarly, genome-wide search was conducted for STRs (short tandem repeats) in the above two genomes.
