In addition to research expertise, Expert has participated in New Product Development and has significant experience creating design goals, FMEA, FA, specifications, Quality systems, scale-up scenarios and technical product support teams and associated documentation. This considerable experience has allowed him to teach Quality, Product Development and Statistics courses over the past 8 years at Northwestern University including the Kellogg Masters in Product Development (MPD) and the Masters in Quality and Regulatory Sciences (MQARS) programs.
During his 20 year career at Abbott Laboratories (Diagnostics Division)and his subsequent work, Expert participated in the management of many technical groups involved in Basic Research through Applied Statistics and Numerical Methods and served often as an internal consultant to Development Teams. New products management is an especially challenging but rewarding area which he especially enjoys due to the creativity, technical ingenuity and integrative challenge of creative problem solving. Often, novel solutions result in significant Intellectual Property for the Company and Expert has a number of patents based on his participation in product development; this is an often overlooked aspect of management and Expert is well aware of the value of Patents and is capable of assisting and managing teams to maintain ownership over their technology.
